Ktichen Demolition -- Part 1
So... this is how the kitchen looked at 6:30 Sunday morning. The hope was that we would get all the cabinets and appliances out then get to work on the drywall and wood paneling. The wood paneling was much harder than expected because we learned that in the fourties they did not use the thin panels... this wood is solid construction and easily 1/2 inch thick which makes it much harder to get down!!

Happy Father's Day!
We had to get out of the hotel and go on a road trip today so we drove up Route 1 over the Golden Gate bridge and through mountains to the beach. We ended up at Reyes National Seashore -- they have a very very dog friendly beach.
It was Luke's first time seeing the ocean. He was hilarious.
We also think it may have been Sadie's first time at the beach. We have never taken her though she may have gone with her previous owners but that would have been before she was three...
Anyway, it was a fabulous trip and we plan to go up there again soon!!

Nice action shot -- Luke wanted to swim so badly. It was cold and the water was pretty rough plus we'd have to drive home with a wet smelly dog in the car which would not be fun!!

Day Six -- New Life...
June 6, 2011 -- Monday
Well, many have asked so here's what the hotel looked like when we moved in.
We moved furniture around a little to better suit our needs. We swapped the table and chairs you see in the way back with the sleeper sofa you can see in the foreground. Emily is sleeping on the sleeper sofa.
On the right side wall, you see the handles for the murphy bed where the Henry is sleeping. There is a closet and a bathroom down that hall.

It's small but it works for now. We signed on the dotted line for the house on Tuesday but we also allowed the former owners to stay in the house until the 27th of June because they need to find a place to live for a few months before their move east. We hope to get in the house before the 27th but until then, this is home!
