Big day...

It was a big day for Henry -- his Cub Scouts Blue and Gold dinner was today and he is now officially a Webelo 2 which means that he only has one more year of cub scouts. It's hard to believe that next year, he'll be crossing the bridge to Boy Scouts. We are really proud of him!


We also found out today that he took first place in his den for the Pinewood Derby. We thought he had placed second but when the times were finalized, it turns out he came in first so he has another nice big trophy for his shelf. They still have to determine who from our pack is fast enough for districts which will be held in April. We'll keep you posted on that!

Henry's Songbirds Concert

Last week, Henry participated in a concert at school with 4th and 5th graders. He has been practicing every week since we went back to school after Thanksgiving.

They did six songs so I edited them down to let you see a snippet of each. The one song I left in full is the Humpty Dumpty song where Henry was selected to play Humpty.

Henry's Explorer Project...

So, Henry's in 4th grade and his recent project for school was to write a letter to the Queen (his teacher) about why she should choose him to be an explorer for her and to find new lands. We soaked the paper in tea and burned the edges. He worked really hard on this and thought the final product was pretty terrific... as we do, obviously!
